DRY PIPE VALVE WATER MOTOR GONG

Operation
When a fire sprinkler alarm valve is activated, water flows through the valve trim and discharges into a strainer before entering the motor inlet. The nozzle directs the water stream to the impeller, rotating the impeller and drive shaft. This action drives the striker arm, creating a continuous gong alarm signal. Discharged water exits through a 1” (25 mm) drain outlet at the base of the housing and must be piped to atmosphere or an open drain.
